Weight gain and especially stubborn and unexpected weight gain around the middle, is one of the key complaints I see at The Prior Clinic.
I totally understand how frustrating this can be, especially if you feel that you’ve been doing everything right with your diet and lifestyle. Weight gain affects how we feel in our clothes and can dent our confidence. Excess weight, especially around the midriff and organs can also be a risk factor for a number of health issues.
It’s important to know that there are some natural in shifts in the way we store fat and where we store fat during the perimenopause due to hormonal changes. Fortunately, by learning how to work with these hormone changes you can minimise weight gain during this period.
You may be relieved to hear that we don’t subscribe to eating less and exercising more, counting calories, calorie deficits, counting macros or ‘going keto’. You have probably tried all of these and find that either they don’t work, or that you can’t stick to them.
